Welcome to my creative space.
Mixed media and collage are both dynamic art forms that involve combining different elements, but they have distinct definitions:
Mixed Media: Mixed media refers to artwork that incorporates more than one art material or medium. It's a broad term that emphasizes the combination of various art forms and techniques within a single piece. The possibilities are virtually limitless, and artists often use mixed media to create unique textures, depths, and layers.
Collage is a specific technique within mixed media. It refers to both the technique and the resulting artwork created by arranging and adhering various materials onto a supporting surface. The term "collage" comes from the French word "coller," meaning "to glue" or "to stick together."
These 4" x 4" pieces are a mix of mono printed sheets, magazine clippings, and paint markers.
